About last night

As you can see from the link above, I attended last night’s game between Fayetteville Academy and Concord First Assembly.

Both sets of Eagles played well, and the physicality was at the level you’d expect for a playoff match. Anyone who’s ever sat near me at a match knows I like artistic football, rather than the route one, “kick it as hard as you can” approach. The Academy’s Gloria Douglas holds the ball up well, and does a good job working passes to Joi Chrishon out on the right wing.

Both had a goal and an assist last night.

Let’s give a shout to Nellie Johnson and the Eagle defense as well. First Assembly didn’t really have a clean look at goal all night.
