Polls, polls, polls

It’s Monday, so the latest batch of North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association polls are out.

Fayetteville Academy (15-2-1) is holding steady in the No. 2 spot in the Private School Poll and will conclude its regular season tomorrow night at Fayetteville Christian.

Don’t forget that the Two Rivers Conference Tournament is set for this week. The opening round is tonight at the higher seeds while the semis and final are slated for Terry Sanford.

Meanwhile, the Mid-Southeastern Conference plays out the string this week with Pinecrest all but assured of winning its ninth straight MSEC crown.

The drama is for second, as Jack Britt – assuming it handles Douglas Byrd today – visits Scotland County Wednesday night. A win or a draw for the Bucs (12-7-1, 10-2) would assure them of finishing second in the league, but a loss in Laurinburg would forge a tie for second, which would likely be broken by a coin flip.
