More on the NCISAA Playoffs

A few other news items worth mentioning…

1. Fayetteville Christian owns three wins in 2008 against the two teams they could face in round two after its bye. The Warriors punted Cary Christian, 5-0, on Sept. 8 and won both legs of a home-and-home series with Cape Fear Academy in Cape Fear Indpendent Conference action.

2. Fayetteville Academy walloped Arendell-Parrott, a possible second-round foe, by a 6-0 tally on Aug. 26. That team visits St. David’s, the defending 2A state champion, in the first round of the postseason. The teams split two meetings earlier this season, with each winning on its home field.

3. Village Christian hosts Asheville Christian Saturday night in a first-round playoff match. The Knights clipped Asheville Christian, 3-1, at a tournament at Westchester Academy back on Aug. 22.

  1. Richard Says:

It’s unfortunate that, if they both win quarterfinal matches, that Fayetteville Christian and Fayetteville Academy will meet on the pitch in the state semi-finals rather than the finals. Likewise, two teams from the TAC conference are seeded 2 and 3 and will meet in the semis assuming the brackets hold.

Fayetteville Academy seems to still be looking for a take charge leader on the pitch – if they find him before next weekend – the FA and FCS semi could be a great one.

  2. Nickelo Says:

It will be a good one even if they do not find what you describe.
