Wake-up call

So I’m a little bummed about Fulham’s shambolic effort against Blackburn today, and I’m sure that Coach McCarthy is not thrilled about ‘Boro falling at The Stadium of Light today.

But on Sunday morning, our eyes will be on Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea will meet Manchester United. It’s only the fifth weekend of the BPL, but this game couldn’t be any more vital in the race for the title.

Here are the keys:

1. Who’s healthy up front – Cristiano Ronaldo made his return from ankle surgery in a mid-week draw with Villarreal in the Champions League, and the odds-on favorite for Player of the Year honors should start for the Red Devils against Chelsea. Meanwhile, Didier Drogba is looking to see some time for the Blues. Both are world class, and both are alone worth the price of admission.

2. Pieces of the puzzle – With Ronaldo back, how do he, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Dimitar Berbatov fit in the United side? My guess is not all at once…

3. Cech, mate – The last time Chelsea keeper Petr Cech faced Man U, he was losing in the Champions League final on a rainy night in Moscow. He’s looking for redemption on a big stage after that experience – and a howler against Turkey in Euro 2008.

Prediction – Chelesa is very tough at the Bridge, and I don’t think the Devils will have an answer for a loaded Blues midfield featuring Deco and Michael Ballack.I take Chelsea, 2-1.
